Accounting Specialist
Accounting Specialist
Performs a wide range of accounting and clerical functions as assigned. Must represent the agency in a professional manner at all times and demonstrate the following characteristics: work independently, without close supervision, possess analytical skills, be detail oriented and have a conceptual understanding of the agency's accounting structure and make decisions accordingly.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 18 years of age
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Excellent driving record
- Ability to pass background screening
- Ability to pass drug screening
- Possess a working telephone (this requirement reflects the fact that many positions rely on a timekeeping application to record work hours)
- Reliable transportation
- Bachelor's degree in business with emphasis in accounting plus prior accounting experience. (Extensive accounting experience may be substituted for degree).
- Must possess analytical skills, be detail oriented and have a conceptual understanding of the agency's accounting structure and make decisions accordingly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English well
- Must be computer literate and have the ability to use different types of software.
- Must possess understanding of accounting procedures and methods.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to balance, climb, bend, stoop, reach, and kneel
- Have use of arms, hands, and fingers
- Lift up to 25 lbs.
- Walk, stand and/or sit for at least eight hours a day
