Activity Instructor

Achievement House Inc. (AHI) has served the Central Coast for over 50 years by providing services that encourage and support individuals with disabilities in achieving their personal and professional goals. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic Activity Instructor to join our team.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday - Friday from 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous instruction for independent community and vocational skills objectives that correspond with individuals' abilities and development.
• Ensure compliance with Individual's ISP and services stated in the Service Design, and supply instructions and techniques as necessary.
• Teach and promote proper activities and appropriate use of time.
• Coordinate, document, and review activity schedules for individuals served.
• Instruct individuals on achieving and maintaining adaptive skills and appropriate behaviors.

Qualifications

• Valid California driver's license (driving is required for this position)
• Ability to pass a LiveScan background check
• Reliable transportation
• Patience, compassion, and ability to be a role model for adults with disabilities
• Ability to work independently and good time management
• Ability to lift and move heavy items such as furniture
• Experience with teaching or curriculum preferred
• Must have basic computer/technology skills and knowledge

Compensation

Anticipated hiring rate is $23.00 per hour plus perks + benefits!
