Vocational Case Coordinator
NCI Affiliates is a respected non-profit organization dedicated to empowering adults with disabilities through a variety of supportive programs and services. As a Vocational Case Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding individuals toward achieving their vocational goals. This role involves supervising and training Direct Support Professionals, coordinating growth opportunities, and ensuring the effective operation of programs within our Retail Thrift Stores and Distribution Center. Responsibilities
- Maintain a professional and respectful approach when interacting with individuals served, community members, and organizational stakeholders.
- Coordinate and schedule annual reviews with individuals served, identifying both short-term and long-term goals and potential barriers to success.
- Provide ongoing instruction and support to help individuals achieve vocational growth and training objectives.
- Oversee individual assessments to determine goals, preferences, and needs, and offer recommendations to ensure these needs are met.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of individual placements to ensure satisfaction for both individuals served and customers.
- Collaborate with management to address worksite challenges and evaluate new opportunities for work crews.
- Encourage positive behavior changes and support personal growth among individuals served.
- Respond appropriately to behavioral situations in both emergency and non-emergency contexts.
- Ensure staff receive accurate and timely information regarding individuals served.
- Train staff on completing data charts and required goal tracking paperwork, and provide quarterly updates.
Qualifications
- Access to a personal vehicle and a current California driver’s license; driving is an essential function of this position.
- Ongoing proof of current state-required auto insurance.
- Ability to clear fingerprinting through the California Department of Justice and the FBI.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable with networking and building relationships.
- Proficient with computers and technology, including Microsoft Excel and Office programs.
- Preferred: Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Preferred: Management or supervisory experience.
- Preferred: Ability to motivate others.
- Preferred: Flexibility with work schedules and willingness to help cover different sites as needed.
Compensation
$25 - $27 per hour, depending on experience
