Special Education Paraeducator (Los Angeles)

The Aptus Group is building a pool of dedicated Special Education Aides for anticipated school-based positions in the 20252026 school year. We partner with schools across Los Angeles County to provide classroom and/or one on one support to students in elementary, middle, and high school settings.

As a Special Education Aide, you will work alongside educators and support staff to assist students with academic, behavioral, and functional needs. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about helping students succeed in a supportive school environment.

Pay Rate: $19 $23 per hour

Schedule: Full Time and Part Time (Monday Friday)

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college, Associates, or Bachelors degree preferred
• Experience working with children or youth, especially students with special needs, is preferred
• Ability to work Monday through Friday during school hours
• Interest in education, special education, or behavioral support
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
• Reliable transportation

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to student/s in the classroom, reinforcing academic lessons and helping them engage with the curriculum
• Support students with daily routines and transitions, including activities such as handwashing, toileting, and lunch/recess supervision when needed
• Monitor and document student behavior and progress.
• Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and social skills development
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to keep student support consistent.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information
• Assist with classroom organization and preparation of instructional materials as needed
• Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and training opportunities to improve skills and knowledge
