Production Planner II

: Overview: Provide direct supervision to key Supply Chain/Logistics functions such as, inventory control, shipping/receiving, warehousing/storage and transportation activities at the facility. Responsible for managing the storage, receiving and dispatching of materials to production buildings, and on-time delivery of finished goods in accordance with customer requirements. Ensure all team members follow security and safety policies/procedures. Major Position Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensure current and future material demand requirements are met in accordance with customer requirements.
• Ensure required documentation and/or system transactions are executed as required.
• Ensure materials are delivered to production buildings in a safe and timely manner.
• Analyze and manage inventory levels and transactions to ensure accuracy.
• Evaluate operational performance of the group.
• Coordinate with Supply Chain to provide data and participate in projects/teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness across both functional groups.
• Manage planning of shipments coming in and going out.
• Ensure required documentation and/or system transactions are executed for all transportation activities.
• Monitor key metrics and report to management team.
• Develop documented procedures needed to effectively manage the production control functions and comply with all GD-OTS policies/procedures as well as Federal and State regulations.
• Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in in Business, Industrial/Manufacturing, Logistics, or related area plus a minimum of 3 years related work experience in planning, inventory control or related experience including one year in a supervisory or leadership role. A high school diploma plus a minimum of 7 years work experience in planning, inventory control or related experience including one year in a supervisory or leadership role may be considered in lieu of a degree
