About the role

As a Data Engineer in this dynamic position, you will be crucial in building cutting-edge internal Data Platform Tools that empower diverse teams such as Video, Growth, Feeds, Ads, and Content. Your expertise will enable the investigation, integration, and consolidation of popular open-source solutions into our company’s internal ecosystems. You will handle billion-level data loads daily, ensuring that our infrastructure remains robust and scalable. Your contributions will enhance operational efficiency, facilitate data-driven insights, and support our ambitious growth trajectory.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify their pain points, assess their needs, and translate them into actionable platform capabilities.


• Research and integrate open-source solutions to enhance platform functionalities.


• Design, develop, and optimize internal platform services, ensuring they deliver exceptional performance.


• Evaluate existing internal systems, identify limitations, and implement improvements for optimal design and functionality.


• Build robust systems capable of handling billion-level datasets daily.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.


• Proven expertise in deploying open-source solutions such as Kubernetes, Kafka, Hadoop, Flink, Spark, Presto, and Trino.


• Familiarity with cloud provider solutions, including AWS and GCP.


• Previous experience in data platform construction is essential.


• Open-source contributions are a plus.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Pay may vary based on a number of factors including job-related skills, level, experience, geographic location and relevant education or training. At NewsBreak, we design our overall rewards package to attract top talents. Depending on the position, the role may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and options.
