Job Description

MyOme is looking for a top-notch senior software engineer to join us on our mission to help people maximize the value of their genomic information. You will collaborate on and lead projects with other engineers and our clinical teams to build a world-class platform that enables patients and doctors to use whole-genome sequencing data and interpretation to improve human health.

Responsibilities

• Work in a team to scope, define, and articulate solutions to complex computing and information management challenges.

• Lead and take ownership of key components.

• Quickly take ideas from ask to implementation, working independently and asking for input/help when needed.

• Use your top-notch software engineering skills to develop robust, well-tested code.

• Contribute to a supportive atmosphere of collective learning and development.

• As a well-rounded engineer, participate in all aspects of the development process and be interested in our mission.

Skills and Experience

• No specific degree or field prerequisite. If you can do the work well and humbly, we want to talk with you.

• Excellent skills with Python and Django apps.

• Experience and comfort with designing APIs, modern software development, and unit testing.

• Familiarity with Linux/Unix and cloud computing and cluster orchestration, such as AWS EC2 and S3, Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, and related technologies.

• Ability to thrive in a nimble start-up environment with changing priorities. Know the difference between scrappy one-off code and production-grade code.

• Bonus, experience with any of the following:

  • HL7 and/or FHIR

  • laboratory information management systems (LIMS)

  • healthcare and HIPAA compliance

  • full-stack teamwork

Location, Compensation, and Benefits

Location: Hybrid; San Francisco (near Montgomery BART) 2 days/week

Compensation: 160K-200K/year depending on experience; equity; and the following benefits:
