Sales Arborist

Grover Landscape Services, a respected and family-owned commercial landscape and tree service company based in Modesto, CA, is seeking a Sales Arborist to join our Tree Care Division. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with a background in horticulture, nursery, landscape, agriculture, or related fields who are eager to build a rewarding career in tree care sales. As a Sales Arborist, you will develop and manage customer relationships, provide expert guidance on tree care needs, and play a key role in the growth of our business. Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with commercial property managers, HOAs, municipalities, and other commercial accounts
• Conduct property walks with customers to assess tree care needs and recommend appropriate services
• Prepare professional estimates and proposals using company software
• Drive new business development through prospecting, networking, and referrals
• Manage the sales pipeline from initial outreach through signed contract
• Work closely with the retiring sales arborist to ensure a smooth transition of client relationships and account history
• Pursue and obtain ISA Certified Arborist credential within six months of hire, with company support and funding
• Participate in structured internal training and field mentorship to deepen plant and tree knowledge
• Collaborate with the Tree Division Manager and field crews to ensure customer expectations are met

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a plant-related field such as horticulture, nursery, landscape, agriculture, or a related discipline
• Strong working knowledge of California landscape trees and plant identification
• Demonstrated customer service or sales experience
• Excellent communication skills with a professional and approachable demeanor
• Self-motivated, organized, and disciplined with strong follow-up abilities
• Willingness to pursue and earn ISA Certified Arborist credential within six months of hire (company-funded)
• Valid California driver's license
• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Landscape Management, or related field (preferred)
• Prior sales experience in a plant-related industry (preferred)
• Familiarity with CRM or estimating software (preferred)
• Existing relationships in the Central Valley commercial property management, HOA, or municipal sectors (preferred)

Compensation

$85,000 – $110,000 annual salary , commensurate with experience and qualifications.
