Purchasing Manager - Agricultural Equipment Manufacturing | Hybrid
Our client is seeking a Purchasing Manager , you'll lead procurement operations for our manufacturing facilities, ensuring timely sourcing of high-quality components and raw materials. You'll manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and maintain inventory levels to support production schedules. This role is critical to ensuring cost-effective, on-time delivery of materials that meet engineering and quality standards.

Work Environment & Location:
- Hybrid role with 2-3 days onsite at either our Manteca or Yuba City location.
- Occasional travel between sites (~150 miles apart) as needed.
- Work includes both office and shop floor environments, with exposure to outdoor conditions, heat, and industrial materials.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain optimal inventory levels based on production forecasts.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and execute purchasing strategies aligned with company goals.
- Prepare reports on key metrics such as cost, quality, and on-time delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure best value and quality.
- Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, mechanical components, and outsourced assemblies.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet technical specifications.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through supplier consolidation and process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage purchasing activities and inventory transactions.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of management or team leadership experience.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to read technical drawings and understand engineering requirements.
- 5+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical components, steel fabrication, hydraulics, and commodity materials.
- Experience in raw material sourcing and contract management with pricing/index awareness.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field (preferred; equivalent experience considered).
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPM or CPSM certification.
- Experience in ISO9001:2015 certified operations.
- Exposure to international sourcing and logistics.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or just-in-time inventory systems.
