Under the direction of the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF) Staff Services Manager (SSM) I, the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) is responsible for coordinating the Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education’s (Bureau) activities associated with student protection and outreach efforts and activities associated with student reimbursement from the Student Tuition Recovery Fund mandates stipulated in the California Private Postsecondary Education Act of 2009 and the Bureau regulations.

Working Conditions

Hybrid telework is available based on operational needs and is subject to change. On March 3, 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom issued Executive Order N-22-25, which requires departments to adopt a four day per week default in-person requirement beginning July 1, 2025. The position is headquartered in Sacramento, CA

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.

Special Requirements

The Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is a narrative discussion of how your education, training, experience and skills meet the minimum and desirable qualifications and qualify you for the position. The SOQ serves as documentation of your ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing and should be typed and no more than 2 pages long. It must also contain a header listing your name and position number listed according to the Job Advertisement. Resumes, letters, and other materials will not be considered as responses to the SOQ. 7) Excellent organizational and time management skills.

8) Ability to develop and evaluate alternatives, analyze data, and present ideas and information effectively.

9) Excellent conflict resolution skills, interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, self awareness and a passion to help others.
