PCU Registered Nurse Job Details

• Location: Nashville, TN 37203 (Travel Nursing Assignment)
• Healthcare Setting: 33-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Length: 13-week locum tenens contract
• Start Date: August 11, 2025
• End Date: November 10, 2025
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling available
• EMR System: Meditech
• Dress Code: Scrubs in Galaxy Blue, Red, or Black
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1640 - $1680

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or acute care nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and ALS (Advanced Life Support) certifications required
• EKG Interpretation certification
• Experience with post-op CABG, vascular, and general cardiac patient populations
• Proficiency in cardiac drips/titrations and electrolyte replacement
• Skilled in managing chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, and TR bands
• Strong communication, teamwork, and responsiveness skills

PCU Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU patients, including post-cardiac and vascular surgery patients
• Monitor, titrate, and administer cardiac drips; manage electrolyte replacement
• Operate and manage specialized equipment (chest tubes, epicardial pacing wires, TR bands)
• Accurately document patient care in Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
• Float to other nursing units as needed per facility policy
• Promote a positive patient experience through effective pain management and communication
