Prep Cook

San Joaquin Country Club is a premier private club with a tradition of excellence that features full club amenities including a pool, practice area, and driving range. The clubhouse offers fine dining, Member’s Grill, and has banquet space capable of hosting banquets, weddings, and other events. We are looking to fill several Prep Cook positions to support the kitchen and service staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service. The Prep Cook will focus on food preparation, organization, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food safety, helping to deliver a consistent, high quality dining experience for members and guests.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring according to recipes and kitchen standards.
• Assist with basic cooking tasks as assigned by the Chef or Line Cook.
• Set up workstations with necessary tools, ingredients, and supplies before service.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of all food items to maintain freshness.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, equipment, and storage areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures.
• Assist with plating, garnishing, and minor food assembly as directed.
• Support Line Cooks and other kitchen staff during service as needed.
• Help with inventory counts and restocking of ingredients and supplies.
• Perform opening and closing kitchen duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of kitchen tools, ingredients, and preparation techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
• Team-oriented with good communication skills.
• Food handler certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).
• Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.

Position offers a competitive salary between $17 - $20 per hour with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for club operations.
