Payroll Specialist (Paycom Experience Preferred)

Pay Range: $35.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist with 2–3 years of payroll experience and a strong HR support background. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience using Paycom , a solid understanding of payroll compliance, and working knowledge of key HR functions including FMLA , state labor laws, workers’ compensation, benefits administration, and open enrollment. We are willing to train the right candidate who is motivated to learn, grow, and build a long‑term career with the company.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

• Process bi‑weekly or weekly payroll using Paycom (preferred)
• Review and validate timecards, PTO, overtime, and wage adjustments
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data
• Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism
• Prepare payroll reports for Finance and HR leadership

HR Support & Compliance

• Assist with FMLA tracking, documentation, and communication
• Maintain awareness of state labor laws and support compliance
• Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and reporting
• Support benefits administration, including enrollments and changes
• Assist with annual open enrollment activities
• Maintain employee files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of payroll experience required (Paycom experience strongly preferred)
• Working knowledge of FMLA, state labor laws, workers’ compensation, and benefits
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the company is highly valued
