Community Based Day Program Instructor

Achievement House Inc. (AHI) is a well-established nonprofit organization serving California’s Central Coast for nearly 70 years. AHI is dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal and professional goals through supportive, community-based services. As a Community Based Day Program Instructor, you will play a vital role in helping adults with disabilities develop independent living and vocational skills in integrated community settings. This position is ideal for compassionate, creative individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact and are interested in fields such as Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, or Sociology. The role offers a consistent weekday schedule and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the community.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing instruction and support to individuals in community and vocational settings, tailored to their person-centered goals.
• Implement and document activity schedules and progress in accordance with each participant’s Individual Service Plan (ISP).
• Teach adaptive skills and appropriate behaviors to promote independence and community integration.
• Coordinate and facilitate engaging activities that foster skill development and personal growth.
• Serve as a positive role model and advocate for individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for community-based activities.
• Ability to pass a LiveScan background check.
• Patience, compassion, and a commitment to supporting adults with disabilities.
• Basic computer and technology skills.

Compensation

$23.00 per hour for a part-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
