AV Lead Technician

Job Overview
We are seeking a Lead Technician with strong installation and leadership capabilities who can manage residential AV projects, mentor junior technicians, and serve as a client-facing representative. While programming experience is a bonus, it is not required for this role—physical install mastery and the ability to lead on-site are the top priorities.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation of residential AV, lighting, shading, surveillance, network/Wi-Fi, and automation systems
- Supervise and mentor junior technicians and helpers on job sites
- Coordinate with the owner and project team to ensure efficient scheduling and execution
- Serve as a professional, client-facing representative during installations
- Ensure installs are completed accurately, cleanly, and to the highest standard
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues independently
- Collaborate on continuous improvement of field operations
Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on AV installation experience, including structured wiring, mounting, terminations, rack building, and basic networking
- Experience leading or mentoring team members in a residential setting
- Familiarity with Lutron, Control4, Savant, or Crestron (proficiency in at least one platform strongly preferred)
- Strong networking skills, including configuration and troubleshooting of wired and wireless networks
- Excellent communication skills and client-facing demeanor
- Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
- Capable of working independently and managing small teams
- Valid driver’s license
- Programming experience is a plus but not required
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $34–$45/hour depending on skill set and certifications
- Overtime opportunities available
