Racking Technician (12pm)
The racking technician applies and removes masking and plugging materials on customer products in a safe and efficient manner, following detailed specifications and production schedules. This role prepares raw materials, interprets blueprints to determine masking requirements, and supports inspection and documentation activities within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Apply and remove all masking and plugging materials on customer products in accordance with customer specifications and internal procedures.
- Perform masking methods based on customer product specifications and documented work instructions.
- Prepare raw materials for masking, including hand wiping using chemical products such as MEK, alcohol, and different types of paint.
- Reference and interpret blueprints to accurately determine masking requirements and ensure correct application.
- Help monitor inventory levels of masking materials, chemicals, and supplies, and request purchases to meet production requirements on time.
- Assist in the inspection of products and promptly notify the team leader or supervisor of any non-conformances or defects.
- Record masking details on job tickets and accurately document all required information on work orders.
- Accurately complete all necessary forms and documentation and adhere to schedule due dates and production timelines.
- Work safely at all times and comply with all safety regulations, especially when handling hazardous materials and chemicals.
- Maintain equipment and the work area in a clean, organized, and orderly condition.
- Work with a positive attitude and promptly report questions, issues, or problems to the team lead or supervisor.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support production and operational needs.
- Ability to apply and remove masking and plugging materials accurately and consistently.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints to determine masking requirements.
- Experience with paint preparation, finishing, assembly, metal finishing, and use of power tools.
- Basic knowledge of working with chemical products such as MEK, alcohol, and different types of paint in a safe manner.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and write to complete required forms and production documentation.
- Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors and co-workers.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Commitment to working safely with hazardous materials and in compliance with safety regulations.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
- Experience with masking, metal studs, glazing, and metal finishing processes is beneficial.
- Familiarity with cleanroom or final inspection environments is an advantage.
- Comfort working in a large, multi-stage production facility.
- Any relevant technical certifications, licenses, or registrations are preferred but not required.
- Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to perform additional duties as needed.

Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a large, multi-stage production facility that includes areas for masking, nickel plating, hanging, chemical tanks, and a cleanroom for final inspection. You will work around hazardous materials and chemicals, following strict safety procedures and regulations. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with an emphasis on cleanliness, organization, and proper handling of equipment and materials. Work is performed on-site with a scheduled 12pm shift, and collaboration with team members, supervisors, and inspectors is an integral part of daily operations.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redwood City, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
