Hotel Mechanic
- Mechanic may train others in essential duties and on occasion will work with any Generalists in accomplishing mechanical duties. In absence of staff perform all mechanical duties.
- Ensure a safe, code compliant and fully functioning mechanical system. Mechanical systems include air, hydronic, gas powered or fired equipment, steam equipment, drains and waste, kitchen equipment, refrigeration, pumps, heaters, blowers, pool and spa equipment, chiller system, water heaters, water treatment and related equipment.
- Responsible for the operational condition of equipment, including reliability, operation and safety.
- Train or direct others in the safe performance of mechanical duties as assigned- not requiring a licensed activity.
- Maintain stores and material to support mechanical and related mechanical equipment, including replacement filters, pumps, gaskets, repair kits, seals, belts, couplings and sheaves, construction materials, insulation materials, ducting, grills, actuators, raw materials, pipe, tube and hose treatment chemicals, salt and bromines, greases, special lubricants and related materials, tools and special hardware to support responsibilities.
- Faces guests in difficult situations, overcomes guest problems, while working with other components of the staff.
- First response to hotel or related emergencies as coordinated with Assistant Chief Engineer.
- Cooperate with the resolution of mechanical to electrical interface issues.
- Participate on an occasional basis to perform duties not normally associated with Engineering that assist Cavallo Point in accomplishing overall goals
- Participate in the development of a safe workplace- outside of the Engineering Department, particularly as related to Mechanical Safety.
- Licensed HVAC Technician, Class, Unlimited, State of California preferred.
- Equipment repair and maintenance experience, particularly kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, forced air and radiator heat systems.
- Experience in industrial safety, including provisioning of crews for mechanical work.
- Background in hydronics, heating and cooling systems for residences or small apartment complexes.
