Data Engineer

AMG & Associates seeks a talented and passionate Data Engineer to join our growing team. You will be critical in building and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers our data-driven decision-making and innovative products.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and Build Scalable Data Pipelines: Develop and implement robust ETL/ELT processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse and data lake.

2. Data Modeling and Architecture: Design and maintain data models, schemas, and database structures to support analytical and operational needs.

3. Data Quality and Governance: Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

4. Infrastructure Management: Manage and optimize data infrastructure components, including databases, data warehouses, data lakes, and cloud-based services.

5. Automation and Scripting: Automate repetitive tasks and data workflows using scripting languages and orchestration tools.

6. Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver effective data solutions.

Qualifications:

1. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems is required.

2. Candidates should have experience in data engineering or a related field.

3. Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala are necessary.

4. Expertise in SQL and database management is expected.

5. Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly desirable.

6. Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline orchestration is needed.

7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.

8. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are also required.

Bonus Points:

1. A Master's degree in a related field is a plus.

2. Experience with machine learning frameworks and data visualization tools is beneficial.
