The Opportunity
Starbird is looking for a passionate and experienced District Manager to lead our operations across Southern California. This pivotal leadership role offers the chance to drive the continued growth and success of our brand.
The District Manager will be responsible for overseeing the performance, development, and compliance of multiple Starbird locations, ensuring that each restaurant operates at the highest standard. This role is essential to maintaining our brand integrity, supporting and developing our General Managers (GMs) and Assistant General Managers (AGMs), and ensuring consistent execution of Starbird’s core values, hospitality excellence, and operational systems.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities
- Conduct weekly location visits and operational audits to ensure brand and service standards are met
- Follow up on audit results to track progress and implement corrective actions where needed
- Develop, evaluate, and coach unit-level management teams to drive performance and accountability
- Create and enforce customer service and hospitality standards
- Analyze and act upon P&L statements and financial reports; work with GMs to identify opportunities and celebrate successes
- Monitor labor productivity; collaborate with GMs to optimize scheduling and manage labor costs within budget
- Support and participate in new store openings, assisting with planning, setup, and training
- Lead by example—create a culture of positivity, operational excellence, and team collaboration
- Identify and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and service quality
- Communicate effectively with GMs and AGMs through daily updates via phone, text, email, and/or Slack
- Ensure operational systems and IT tools are functioning properly and utilized effectively
- Support the development and maintenance of business systems for ongoing improvement

- Physical capability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods
- Must be able to tolerate temperature variations (kitchen, freezer, outdoors)
- ServSafe Manager Certification required (or ability to obtain)
- Demonstrated experience using business systems, analytics, and process improvement tools
