Job Description and Duties

MAINTENANCE AIDE (SEASONAL) – GOLD FIELDS DISTRICT / MARSHALL GOLD DISCOVERY STATE HISTORIC PARK

“Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKs program. The reporting location for this position will be at Marshall Gold Discovery SHP located at 310 Back Street, Coloma 95613. This position works under the supervision of the Park Maintenance Supervisor and under the technical lead of the Park Maintenance Workers.

The Seasonal Maintenance Aide is responsible for assisting with the maintenance workload throughout the park unit with an emphasis on the cleaning of facilities such as office buildings, maintenance shops, historical structures and restrooms. The incumbent will ensure that the trails, and surrounding areas are free from litter and other debris. The successful candidates will have the opportunity to work outdoors and receive training in the field of facility maintenance. Ability to work in team environment, which includes park staff, and a diversity of recreational user groups is highly desirable.

This position can work 189 days in a 12 consecutive month period or a maximum of 1500 hours within 12 consecutive months per California Code of Regulation . This position is designated as not telework eligible.

The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.

Possession of a valid driver’s license of the appropriate class and a safe driving record as documented by the Department of Motor Vehicles within 60 days prior to appointment. (A safe driving record is one free from convictions in the past two years for repeated moving violations or a single serious violation, such as drunk driving or reckless driving.)

Working Conditions

The incumbent will work primarily outdoors and may be exposed to extreme weather conditions (extreme highs and lows).
