Commercial Real Estate Finance Associate Originator - Remote

**Job Title: Associate - Commercial Real Estate Finance**

**Location:** Hybrid (Remote and In-Person in Downtown San Diego)

**About the Role:**
We are excited to invite a talented and motivated individual to join our Capital Markets team as an Associate. This position is ideal for someone with experience in originating debt and equity for commercial real estate assets or for those looking to break into the dynamic field of Commercial Real Estate Finance.

As an Associate, you will play a crucial role in originating and executing commercial real estate loans and equity placements. You will help manage our extensive pipeline and work closely with a dedicated team of 20 loan originators who collectively finance over $800 million in commercial mortgage loans each year. This role offers a hybrid work environment, allowing you to balance remote work with in-person collaboration in our vibrant Downtown San Diego office.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Conduct quick analyses and underwriting of commercial real estate transactions.
- Communicate daily with borrowers, lenders, attorneys, title and escrow officers, and report writers regarding closing items, changes, and due dates.
- Develop and maintain detailed checklists and timelines for each transaction file.
- Review loan applications and coordinate loan requirements with third-party vendors, attorneys, and escrow companies.
- Obtain zoning letters and certificates of occupancy.
- Gather and submit lender closing items and documentation.
- Compile invoices and wiring instructions for payment by escrow.
- Coordinate loan documents and signing processes.
- Post-closing, gather loan documentation and submit closing files to the servicing department and the borrower.
- Maintain and update the pipeline of loans in process in our tracking system.

**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, preferably in Business Administration, Real Estate Development, or Finance.
- 2+ years of experience in commercial real estate capital markets, banking, or related fields.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel.
- Escrow or title experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information, analyze risk, and identify mitigating factors.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to express ideas in a clear and persuasive manner.
- Self-motivated with a strong ambition to learn, grow, and succeed.
- Confident and able to work well under pressure while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and exercising independent judgment.
