Purchasing Manager (City of Industry)

Location: City of Industry, CA

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree (Engineering Preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing & R&D sourcing , planning, and procurement (defense, aerospace, automotive, or high-tech industries).
• Must have sourced commodities, specifically electronic components : AD converters, memory modules, microprocessors, and Delrin thermoplastics.
• Experience performing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis.
• Hands-on experience and oversight with selecting and purchasing electronic components .
• Be a strong negotiator with a track record of developing supplier relationships .
• Competency in tracking orders, reviewing inventory levels, forecasting, quality assurance.
• Track record of driving continuous improvement.
• Experience with controlling costs, on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on oversight of purchasing operations .
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of direct reports : buyers and planners.
• Ensure shortages are avoided (manage out-of-stock material, back orders, and mitigate material lead-time issues).
• Evaluate obsolete materials and seek alternatives.
• Negotiate costs based on current standard cost.
• Forecasting: Use data analysis to plan purchase releases.
• Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Review performance metrics and process outcomes.
• Identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions.
• Create and execute resource optimization plans.
• Partner with sourcing team to maintain regulatory compliance across all site operations.
