Doxa Church, located in Rocklin, CA, is a non-denominational church committed to glorifying God by making disciples. ABOUT THE ROLE

The Worship Leader assists the Worship Pastor and Staff in carrying out ministry vision by cultivating a life giving, passionate and skillful culture of worship at Doxa Church through the spiritual and musical leadership of full and part-time (“Staff”), Volunteers, and other people or groups as assigned by the Worship Pastor

QUALIFICATIONS:

This individual must be doctrinally aligned with Doxa Church and deeply committed to its vision and values. This individual must possess a heart for helping others grow and serve, and an acumen for leading others. He must be spiritually mature, teachable, trustworthy, humble to follow and lead.

ESSENTIAL ROLES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate and/or lead worship for all three Sunday main services (40 weeks per year), all church prayer & worship (quarterly), and other events as directed by the Worship Pastor.
• Plan or lead liturgical elements, scripture readings, exhortations and transitions between songs effectively and with confidence.
• Participate and lead worship for students (Wednesday nights).
• Partner with the Music Director Lead to lead worship for students.
• Train and develop student worship volunteers.
• Oversee Kids Ministry Worship; volunteers, scheduling, coordinating, and lead worship as needed.
• Act as Worship Department liaison between other Doxa departments, peoples, or external entities.
• Aid in developing spiritual & musical leadership among worship team volunteers alongside worship pastor and staff.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent minimum.
• Minimum of 3 years of worship experience leading and/or music directing in a local church.
• Proficient vocalist and keys player (multi-instrumentalist preferred)
• Ability to lead worship confidently in front of large crowds through singing, speaking, exhorting, and reading scripture
• Ability to plan, prepare, coordinate, and lead a worship service from beginning to end.
• Ability to handle multiple projects effectively.
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to create, coordinate and lead a worship service with a band.
• Ability to train, develop, and lead worship ministry volunteers.
• Have good intuition, think several steps ahead, have attention to detail, and make decisions quickly.
• Producer set of skills with experience creating music using DAWs like Ableton, Protools or equivalent.
• Songwriting experience preferred.

OTHER ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Worship Pastor with department planning, execution of endeavors, implementation of projects, and weekly tasks as assigned.
• Provide administrative, coordination, and communication support for the Worship Department staff and volunteers as directed by the worship pastor.
• Assist the Worship Ministry Lead and Music Director Lead in any tasks needing assistance.
• Attend all staff or departmental meetings as directed by the worship pastor. Attend weekly cross-departmental Sunday Checkin meetings as worship department representative and report back to the worship pastor.
• Provide administrative, coordination, and communication support for the Communion Team Volunteers as directed by the worship pastor.
• Coordinate, manage, and maintain the incoming and onboarding processes for worship and communion team/potential volunteer candidates (this includes all communication, scheduling and attending. auditions where it applies, dispersing resources, the use of Planning Center Online “people” workflow, email templates, sending and receiving communication, etc.).
• Assist in the planning and coordination of special services, projects, and team nights as directed by the Worship Pastor (ie: Christmas, Easter, Anniversary, Album Projects, Video Projects, etc.).
• Have a general working knowledge of musical gear used on a Sunday and be able to troubleshoot, maintain, perform maintenance or build out platforms for worship ministry gear use (e.g., a general knowledge or ability to learn the ins and outs of things like Nords, pedals, pedal platforms, guitars, drums. or coordinate with third parties for maintenance).
• Partner in the song-writing ministry at Doxa Church writing, recording, and producing Doxa original content.
