Accounts Receivable Supervisor

Description

The role of Accounts Receivable Supervisor is to manage the AR personnel and the AR function and will be a hands-on contributor to the performance of the Company reporting to the Controller. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :

The ability and experience in performing and supervising the following functions:

Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of multiple state sales tax filings via Avalara.

Responsible for complex customer A/R reconciliations, issuing customer credit memos, and managing consignment customer billing.

Review and release sales orders requested from Sales.

Interact with sales and shipping personnel to file or support chargebacks, shortages, returns and other claims. 

Works with sales account managers on new account requirements.

Reviews credit terms, as needed.

Process debit and credit memos in the system.

Process customer payments.

Set up new customer portals.

Investigate past due items/collections and provide recommendations for write-offs or adjustments.

Assist with internal/external audit preparations.

Other projects and duties as necessary to support the business units and departmental objectives.

Responsible for reviewing/monitoring AR aging.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related experience. 

5+ years’ progressive experience within accounting.

Some experience supervising a team.

Advanced Excel skills

Understanding and experience with sales tax

Strong analytical, problem-solving and organization skills.

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Able to work independently and take initiative.
