OverviewThis is a remote position based in California, and candidates must reside within the state.

The Senior Claims Examiner will be responsible for managing complex liability claims, employment & civil rights claims to their conclusion in the most cost-effective way possible for the client. In addition, the Sr. Claims Examiner will be responsible for recognizing claims involving coverage issues and bring to the Claims and Coverage Committees for referral to counsel.
How you'll make an impact- Manages the full life cycle of complex general liability claims in accordance with PLCA guidelines and client expectations.
- Responsibilities include analyzing coverage, assigning and reviewing investigations, evaluating damages, and recommending settlement strategies.
- Prepares timely reports for reinsurers, JPAs, and Superpools, and maintains accurate statistical data.
- Directs defense counsel, controls litigation costs, and attends mediations or settlement conferences as needed.
- Actively pursues subrogation opportunities and adjusts reserves based on claim developments.
- Drafts coverage letters, negotiates settlements, and ensures compliance with statutory and ethical standards.
- Provides guidance to junior adjusters and supports client file reviews.
- Maintains a minimum billing productivity of 80% daily and performs other duties as assigned.
Required: High school diploma and 7 years related experience working within the applicable specialty claims area. Demonstrated ability to handle unique/challenging claims issues at a senior adjuster level. Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled or able to obtain the licenses/certification per local requirements. Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices. Computer experience with related claims and business software.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree highly preferred. 10 or more years of prior experience adjusting claims in applicable specialty area highly preferred. Behaviors: Ability to think critically, solve problems, plan and organize activities, serve clients, negotiate, effectively communicate verbally and in writing and embrace new challenges. Analytical skill necessary to make decisions and resolve issues inherent in handling of claims. Ability to successfully negotiate the settlement and disposition of claims including the ability to interpret related documentation.Compensation and benefits

The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, complexity or scope, specialized skill set, lines of business/practice area, supply/demand, and scheduled hours.
