Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years combined experience in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum License: Active state license required Certifications: ACLS AWHONN Advanced AWHONN Intermediate BLS NRP BSN Must-Have: The nurse must be cross-trained and rotate among all perinatal units. Demonstrated competency in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum is required. Description: This position is for a Perinatal Float Pool Nurse. The nurse will be required to float among all designated perinatal units. Staff will provide care for high-risk obstetric patients and their newborns. The role includes assisting with deliveries and recovery in various settings. Candidates should be knowledgeable about antepartum care, postpartum management, and newborn assessments. This position requires the administration of medications and various nursing skills. Nurses are expected to uphold breastfeeding support and patient education responsibilities. The nurse will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team. Flexibility in scheduling and willingness to float is mandatory. Weekend shifts may be required based on unit needs. The position encompasses diverse patient populations, including neonates and adults. Additional ongoing training and education modules may be necessary. Candidates must demonstrate ability to manage complex patient situations effectively.
