About the Role:
We are partnering with one of our clients in the West Covina area who is looking to bring on a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support their team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has strong experience processing high-volume payroll accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high-volume, multi-state payroll on a regular basis (weekly/biweekly)
- Ensure accuracy of payroll data including wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions
- Maintain and audit payroll records, timekeeping data, and employee information
- Handle payroll adjustments, corrections, and off-cycle payments as needed
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, taxes, and deductions
- Support payroll reporting and reconciliation, including general ledger tie-outs
- Partner with HR and Accounting teams on payroll-related processes and improvements
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of high-volume payroll processing experience (required)
- Strong understanding of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance requirements
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP, UKG, Workday, or similar
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
- High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
