The State Water Project Analysis Office is looking for a dynamically engaged, Supervising Engineer with a can-do attitude to join its team. If you want to be a part of the State Water Project (SWP) team, we may have the job for you!

Do you want to be challenged with super complex work that is both rewarding and gratifying? Do you want to be aware of all SWP activities and understand how the SWP functions financially? Do you want to work hard but feel productive? Do you want to interact with all levels of DWR, including Executive Management, to develop financial policies? As Manager of the SWP Project Cost Branch, you will lead the allocation of State Water Project water and power costs, administer the water supply and power related cost allocation and repayment provisions of the water supply contracts, develop the long-term financial plan for the SWP, and develop and analyze financing and repayment plans for proposed SWP water supply and power generation facilities.

Supervise, manage, and direct the technical engineering work used in the preparation of the annual Statements of Charges to 29 water supply contractors; develop cost allocation procedures; and review and analyze data supporting the annual Statements of Charges. Utilize the Department's cost recovery database system, Cost Allocation and Billing (CAB), for the determination and allocation of all SWP expenditures.

Special Requirements

A valid California Driver’s License; and possession of a valid certificate of registration as a civil engineer issued by the California State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.

This position is covered in the Political Reform Act and requires financial disclosure within 30 days of the first and last day physically worked in a covered position and annually by April 1st.
