CDL A Driver
A-Jay Excavating is a growing company with a large, modern fleet, dedicated to providing reliable and efficient transportation services. Responsibilities
- Operate and drive trucks with a gross vehicle weight (GVW) over 26,000 pounds
- Tow loads exceeding 10,000 pounds
- Securely attach tractor units to trailer hitches and ensure all connections are safe
- Maintain accurate driving and delivery logs
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance (oil, fuel, tire pressure, etc.)
- Ensure all cargo is securely packed and organized for safe transport
- Follow assigned delivery routes, schedules, and rest periods
- Maneuver and park tractor-trailers safely in various environments
- Utilize GPS and other routing systems to navigate efficiently
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A)
- Ability to work variable hours, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Experience operating electric lifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks
- Strong attendance and reliability
