Role Overview 

We’re seeking an experienced Estimator to support ground-up custom residential projects from concept through construction. This role is responsible for producing accurate, detailed cost estimates and budgets that guide decision-making across design, procurement, and project execution. You’ll work closely with design, project management, and leadership to ensure projects are financially sound, competitively priced, and aligned with Westside Build’s quality standards. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for new custom home construction projects 

• Perform comprehensive material and labor takeoffs from full architectural and structural plan sets 

• Analyze drawings, specifications, and scope documents to identify risks, gaps, and cost drivers 

• Develop pricing based on current market conditions, historical data, and subcontractor input 

• Collaborate with Project Managers and Design teams to value-engineer solutions without compromising design intent 

• Maintain cost accuracy throughout preconstruction and support budget updates as designs evolve 

• Track pricing trends, materials, and labor costs specific to high-end residential construction

Requirements

Requirements 

• Minimum 7 years of experience as a construction estimator 

• Strong knowledge of new custom home construction 

• Proven ability to read and interpret full architectural and structural plan sets 

• Hands-on experience preparing detailed takeoffs, budgets, and cost estimates 

• Deep understanding of construction materials, methods, and pricing 

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy 

• Ability to work independently, manage multiple estimates, and meet deadlines 

Software & Tools 

• Proficiency with estimating and project management software, including Procore 

• Advanced working knowledge of Bluebeam Revu for plan review, takeoffs, and markups 

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for detailed cost modeling, budgeting, and analysis 

• Experience with construction estimating platforms (e.g., PlanSwift, OST, or similar) a plus 

• Comfortable working with digital plan sets, specifications, and cloud-based collaboration tools

Salary range is $95,000 – 150,000 commensurate with experience
