Filing Clerk
Our busy law firm is in search of a File Clerk to join our growing team. The File Clerk will be responsible for office filing, supporting attorneys by performing a variety of administrative duties, including drafting legal correspondence, answering phones, greeting visitors, and communicating with attorneys, clients and court personnel. These are the duties and responsibilities:
· Answer, screen and respond to telephone calls and routine correspondence.
· e-File pleadings with the court, organize, scan, copy, and serve legal documents
· Keeping files up to date, following a filing system, and organizing records, such as letters, legal documents, case files, correspondence, invoices and memoranda, according to that system.
· Assemble, serve and file legal documents for delivery to third parties, courts, administrative agencies, in conformance with the applicable format, rules and/or requirements of the network, agency or court.
· Experience with handling pre-filing procedures (signature verification, proofs of service, cover sheets, e-filing procedures), and case preparation (exhibit assembly, bates stamping, document indexing).
Qualification and skills
· Associate Degree in Legal Studies or related field preferred
· Prior experience in a law firm
· Familiarity with legal documents and terminology
· Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe
· Typing speed of at least 50 wpm with a high rate of accuracy
· Able to work as a team with attorneys and staff

Pay: From $24.00 per hour
