Psychiatric Office Assistant
:
The Collective is looking for a full-time, dedicated, and driven psychiatric office assistant passionate about mental health to join our multidisciplinary team! Psychiatric office assistants are responsible for performing various duties directly assisting our incredible psychiatrists and working closely with our empathetic licensed vocational nurses (LVNs)
Credentials and Qualifications
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Administrative experience; Medical Assistant certification preferred
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Criminal record clearance
- Current Employee Health Screening and PPD Skin Test
- Strong oral and written and interpersonal skills
- Strong Organizational and Documentation Skills
- Proficiency in EMR, preferably KIPU, recommended but not required
- General understanding of insurance/insurance policies
- Familiarity with DCHS, CARF and Joint Commission standards of care
- Familiarity with commonly used psychiatric medications and side effects
- Must be self-motivated, outgoing, and personable
Essential Job Functions
Support and Assist the Medical Doctors (Psychiatrists)
- Work closely with nurses to assist the medical doctors in scheduling and coordinating administrative tasks
- Regularly communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members
Client Care
- Scheduling outside medical appointments deemed necessary by nursing staff and psychiatrists
- Communication with pharmacies, providers, and the clinical staff to coordinate and facilitate a client's medical care while in treatment
- Document in EMR to account for client absences due to medical appointments
Competencies, Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrate a basic working knowledge of psychiatric medications in order to communicate effectively with pharmacies as well as scheduling offsite medical appointments
- Demonstrate understanding and compliance with company policies
- Maintains compliance with HIPAA regulations, State, Federal and accreditation standards, and company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned
Schedule
- Part-time (20-25 hours/wk): Monday - Friday
- Overtime and On-Call as needed

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
