The Supervisor I serves as the Administrative Support Supervisor within the State Operations Center (SOC) Finance & Administration Section, providing day-to-day supervision and coordination of administrative support functions. The position oversees SOC timekeeping and purchasing support, coordinates contracts and related administrative processes, and provides broader administrative and fiscal support to the SOC Finance Section. The position works closely with SOC leadership, supervisors, timekeepers, purchasing staff, and program areas to ensure administrative processes are accurate, timely, compliant, and responsive to the operational needs of the SOC.You will find additional information about the job in the .
Working Conditions
In Office: This position supports and manages the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES which is handled in an office location. This is not considered a hybrid telework position.
Conflict of Interest (COI): This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.Special Requirements

Statement of Qualification

SOQ FORMAT INSTRUCTIONS:
- The SOQ shall be no more than one page, single-sided, single-spaced, one-inch margins in 12-point Times New Roman font.
PLEASE ANSWER THE FOLLOWING:
- Describe your experience supervising or coordinating administrative support functions, particularly timekeeping, purchasing, contracts, or other fiscal/administrative processes. Discuss how you have ensured accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable policies and procedures, and effective customer service. Include an example of a process you improved and the results achieved.
- The State Operations Center operates in a dynamic environment where administrative and fiscal needs can change rapidly during emergency activations. Describe a situation in which you had to prioritize competing administrative, purchasing, timekeeping, or contractual demands while supporting multiple partners. Explain how you established priorities, communicated expectations, addressed challenges, and ensured critical work was completed accurately and on time.
