What you’ll do:

The Recruiting & Talent Specialist is responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment across Joint Venture Restaurant Group’s restaurant and corporate teams, with a focus on attracting high-quality, hospitality-driven talent. This role partners closely with operations leadership to support high-volume hiring needs while also contributing to broader talent initiatives, including onboarding, employee experience, and workforce planning during periods of lower hiring activity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned) during work hours:

Job Responsibilities

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition – Primary Duties

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for front and back-of-house management, and corporate roles, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management
  • Manage and cultivate diverse and community oriented candidate pipelines through external sources such as culinary and hospitality schools, community job boards, and alternative sources.
  • Partner with General Managers and Operations leadership to understand staffing needs, turnover trends, and hiring priorities across locations
  • Recruit for hourly roles as requested by GM’s and CDC’s
  • Lead high-volume hiring efforts, including hourly recruiting, open calls, and hiring events
  • Develop and maintain candidate pipelines for critical and frequently hired roles
  • Ensure a best-in-class candidate experience that reflects the company’s hospitality standards, brand and core values
  • Utilize job boards, social media, referrals, and local outreach to attract qualified candidates
  • Track recruiting metrics such as time-to-fill, applicant flow, and hiring conversion rates
  • Create, send, manage and file all offer letters for new hires, rehires and promotions

Talent Operations & Onboarding – Secondary Duties

  • Support onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring a smooth and consistent experience from offer acceptance through first day
  • Partner with HR and restaurant leadership to ensure new hires are set up for success operationally and culturally
  • Assist with maintaining job descriptions, headcount tracking, and organizational structure updates
  • Ensure compliance with hiring practices and documentation requirements
  • Upkeep and maintain onboarding kits and manage the checking in and out

Employer Branding & Talent Programs – Primary Duties

  • Collaborate with People Coordinator, Director of People and Marketing department for any employer branding efforts, including job postings, social media engagement, and community outreach
  • Help coordinate recruiting campaigns aligned with new restaurant openings or seasonal hiring spikes
  • Contribute to employee engagement and retention initiatives, particularly in high-turnover roles
  • Support internal mobility and development efforts where applicable

People Operations Support (as needed)

  • Provide support on HR and People initiatives during slower hiring periods, including audits, training coordination, and process improvements
  • Assist with special projects related to talent, culture, and workforce planning

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of recruiting experience, preferably in hospitality, restaurant, or high-volume environments
  • Experience managing multiple requisitions across hourly and salaried roles
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, operational setting
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with diverse teams
  • Must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and understanding both English and Spanish
  • Familiarity with ATS platforms and hourly recruiting tools (e.g., Culinary Agents, Indeed, LinkedIn)
  • Experience with hiring events, open calls, and local recruiting strategies
  • Must be proficient in Google Suite, Calendar management, email, Applicant Tracking systems, HRIS and other platforms needed for the role
  • Must be proficient in computer operations

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Regular interaction with restaurant locations, including occasional on-site support for hiring events or openings
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support hiring demands (including evenings or weekends for events)
  • Collaborative, hands-on approach to supporting both people and operations
  • On-site 5 days a week, 10 hours a day. The People team runs 7 days a week and this role is expected to have availability to work weekends, as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation

FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt, $72,000 to $82,000
