Interim Accounting Manager

Our client, a high-growth financial technology company, is seeking an Accounting Manager to support its General Ledger and financial reporting functions during a temporary leave coverage period.

This role is 100% remote, and the engagement has a duration of 5 months.

Responsibilities:

• Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, workpapers, and variance analyses prepared by the accounting team.
• Support month-end close and financial reporting processes for core accounting and financing-related activities.
• Partner with technical accounting and finance teams to implement new accounting requirements and support complex transactions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business drivers, support strategic initiatives, and explain significant accounting activity.
• Prepare and review accounting analyses for complex or non-routine transactions.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accounting operations and close efficiency.
• Support project management, documentation, and maintenance of accounting procedures and controls.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of accounting policies and operational best practices.

Requirements:

• CPA required; public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• 6 years of progressive accounting and/or finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with complex accounting areas such as financing transactions, loan accounting, or similar technical accounting matters.
• Strong analytical, communication, project management, and process improvement skills.
