Software Engineer II
About Productiv:
Most AI in your company is invisible–unsanctioned tools creating risk you can’t measure, data you can’t protect, and spend you can’t explain. Productiv gives IT leaders a single source of truth across SaaS and AI. Detect every AI-enabled app, see which use company data for training, and get portfolio-level reports for legal, security, and executives.
And because visibility without control isn’t enough, Productiv also tracks usage, optimizes renewals, and cuts waste–so you reduce risk and maximize every dollar.
What you’ll do:
We’re looking for a software engineer with 2–4 years of experience to join our team and help build the next generation of tools that reduce risk, optimize SaaS usage, and maximize every dollar. This role offers the chance to work across the full stack, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and make a tangible impact on product quality and customer experience.
Your Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and development of new features, ensuring code is reliable, maintainable, and efficient.
- Collaborate with team members on architecture decisions and implementation strategies.
- Participate in code reviews, share best practices, and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Debug and resolve technical challenges, proposing improvements to tools and processes.
- Streamline existing systems and features to improve performance and maintainability.
- Work cross-functionally to deliver high-quality features that meet product goals.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and actively share insights with the team.
- Incorporate user feedback and assist in resolving customer-reported issues to enhance product experience.
Your Experience:
- 2-4 years of software engineering experience, ideally in a startup or early-stage environment.
- Proficient in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript, with some front-end experience (React or Vue) and interest in full-stack development.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and databases (relational or non-relational) is a plus.
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, and the full product lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving skills, able to debug moderately complex issues and propose improvements.
- Effective collaborator and communicator, able to work with cross-functional teams and explain technical trade-offs.
- Eager to grow technically, contribute to impactful features, and mentor junior engineers.
- Customer-focused mindset, incorporating user needs into feature design and development.
We are a distributed team looking for teammates in the Bay Area, Seattle, Denver, and New York City. We hire the best people for our company and do not require employees to work from a designated office. However, we value in-person collaboration and hire within these specific hubs to ensure we can efficiently gather in person regularly.
Benefits:
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents.
- A robust 401K plan to help you invest in your future.
- Monthly subsidies to cover your telecommunications needs and support your ongoing personal growth and wellness.
- For those near one of our offices, an FSA Commuter/Parking Benefit and lunches when you’re working from one of our offices.
- A family-first approach with 12 weeks of paternity leave and 18 weeks of maternity leave, ensuring you have the time you need with your new family members.
Not everyone will match the above qualifications 100%. If your experiences don’t perfectly align, but you think you’d be a great addition to our team, we’d still love to hear from you.
Productiv is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or veteran status.
