PeopleReady of Oceanside, CA is now hiring Class B Drivers! This position reports directly to the Program Director or Assistant Program Director, as designated. The role is responsible for safely transporting program participants while ensuring their supervision, comfort, and well-being at all times.

Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $18 - $22 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a Class B Driver:

• Transport assigned participants according to the established transportation schedule.
• Assist both ambulatory and non-ambulatory participants with boarding and exiting vehicles, as applicable.
• Maintain participant order, safety, and appropriate behavior during transport.
• Conduct all company-required and DOT safety and vehicle operation checks, documenting results as required.
• Ensure assigned company vehicles and all related equipment are maintained in safe, working condition.
• Load and unload participant belongings, including backpacks and mobility devices (e.g., wheeled walkers), as needed.
• Maintain continuous awareness of participant whereabouts at all times.
• Participants must never be left unattended or unsupervised.
• In emergency situations requiring the driver to enter a business during transport, all participants must remain with the driver.
• Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned by the supervising manager

Shift Timings: 1st Shift (Day)

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent required (or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment)
• One or more years of commercial driving experience preferred
• Ability to read, write, and speak English; bilingual skills (especially Spanish) are a plus
• Valid California Class B Driver's License with all required endorsements to transport 10+ passengers
• Current DOT medical certificate and passenger transport endorsement
• Ability to pass a Live Scan background clearance
• Ability to pass required substance abuse testing
• Clean and excellent driving record
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with participants, families, caregivers, and community members
• Knowledge of traffic laws (“Rules of the Road”) and ability to read and interpret road signs in English
• Ability to comply with all State and Federal transportation rules and regulations
• Background Check and Drug Test Required
