We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Oakland, California. This is a long-term contract position where you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the smooth execution of accounting processes. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in inventory and manufacturing accounting, along with expertise in tools like QuickBooks Online and Excel.
Responsibilities:• Lead the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements to maintain up-to-date and error-free records.
• Manage profit and loss statements, including top-line reconciliation and payroll reconciliation.
• Record Shopify fees and deposits accurately within QuickBooks Online.
• Collaborate with the team to address outstanding accounting tasks from prior quarters, ensuring all records are current.
• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze and organize financial data effectively.
• Work closely with inventory and manufacturing operations to align accounting practices with business needs.
• Assist in developing processes for improved efficiency and accuracy within the accounting department.
• Spend initial time onsite in Oakland to gain familiarity with business operations and systems.• At least 10 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on senior-level roles.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and strong familiarity with inventory and manufacturing accounting.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including formulas and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated expertise in month-end closing processes and general ledger reconciliation.
• Experience with account and bank reconciliations.
• Ability to work independently and deliver results with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills for effective collaboration with the team.
