Accounts Receivable Specialist

Description

We are seeking a detailed-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our Credit Manager to perform day-to-day accounts receivable transactions, ensure timely and accurate billing, cash receipts, preliminary notices, and support various accounting functions as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of A/R processes and excellent organizational skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Process accounts receivable transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
2. Create new customer accounts in the system.
3. Print and review the daily open sales order report; request preliminary information from customers.
4. Prepare preliminary notices.
5. Process lien waiver releases.
6. Release sales orders from credit holds.
7. Process credit card payments.
8. Apply customer checks.
9. Process A/R miscellaneous credits and RMA credits.
10. Update and maintain customer tax exemption certificates.
11. Assist with customer collections and follow-up activities.
12. Assist in the month-end close process.
13. Compile documentation and information for audits as needed.
14. Handle special accounting projects and assignments as required.

Requirements

1. Must be computer literate i.e., accounting software, spreadsheet application and word processor programs. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics software helpful but not required.
2. Ability to follow up on pending issues and meet deadlines.
3. Knowledge of general accounting principles.
4. Ability to work in a high volume and fast paced environment.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Must be organized and detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
7. Ability to interact with customers and all levels of personnel in a professional manner.
8. Maintain the highest level of professionalism under pressure.

Physical Conditions / Requirements

• No unusual physical requirements. Requires no heavy lifting and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
• Occasional – Routine deadlines; usually sufficient lead time; variance in work volume seasonal and predictable; priorities can be anticipated; some interruptions are present; involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.
• Job frequently requires sitting and handling objects with hands.
• Job occasionally requires standing, walking, bending, reaching, talking, hearing, and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
• Hearing requirements: Ability to hear people over the telephone and in person.

Salary Description

$23 - $25 per hour
