Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Supervisor 1 at Headquarters in Sacramento, the Analyst performs the following duties:

• Analyses and responds to classification and pay issues (classification studies, review of duty statements and other position guidelines, salary compaction, etc.);
• Advises employees on upward mobility;
• Provides advice, assistance, and/or recommendations to managers and supervisors regarding employee disciplinary matters;
• Reviews, edits, and/or drafts disciplinary documents;
• Coordinates and/or Co-coordinates the DMV Pull Notice Program and the CCC's Drug and Alcohol Testing program; and
• Coordinates the CCC's Leave of Absence, FMLA/CFRA, Catastrophic Leave, and Employee Assistance Program for assigned units.

Working Conditions

Please Note: This position is classified as “Hybrid” and is currently eligible for full time telework due to on-going renovations at CCC Headquarters (HQ) located at 1719 24th Street, Sacramento, CA. However:

• You may be occasionally required to work from the CCC Sacramento Center location (570 Bercut Drive, Sacramento, CA) based on business need (printing, mailing, meetings, etc.).
• Once HQ renovations are complete, you will be notified and the in-office reporting location will revert to HQ (anticipated return is mid-May or later) and this position will revert to a “Hybrid” schedule of up to three days of telework per week, with a minimum of two days of in-office work.
• Effective July 1, 2026, there is a Statewide mandate that requires a work schedule of four days of in-office work per week for all “Hybrid” eligible positions. The CCC anticipates implementing this mandate sometime in September for this position, dependent upon completion of HQ renovations.

Special Requirements

After hire, incumbent must submit to a Live Scan Background Check – not reviewed to determine ability to be hired/remain employed but as a requirement of DOJ rules for employees who review others’ Live Scan results.

Eligibility Information

In order to be considered for the job vacancy you must satisfy one of the following requirements:

1. List Eligibility – Successfully complete the civil service exam for Analyst 1or . Please refer to the exam bulletin for the frequency of administration of this exam.
2. Transfer Eligibility – Must have current employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable. If in a different classification, you must meet the minimum qualifications (see Minimum Qualifications section and associated links above).
3. Reinstatement Eligibility – Previously obtained permanent employment with the State of California in the same classification or in a classification that is comparable. If in a different classification, you must meet the minimum qualifications (see Minimum Qualifications section and associated links above.
4. Training & Development (T&D) Assignment – State employees in a permanent appointment, and no longer on probation, may be considered for a T&D assignment.
