Lead Product Manager, Housing
Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It’s hard to believe that it’s 2025 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We’re here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?
About the Role
Our Housing team is on a mission to build the best rental experience for our users. As a key member of this best-in-class product team, you will be on the front lines, turning our ambitious vision into a reality.
We are looking for a hands-on, user-obsessed Lead Product Manager to own a critical pillar of our core product —from discovery and search to application and payment. You will lead a dedicated cross-functional team to ship innovative features that solve real problems for renters. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role with a direct path to shaping the future of our product.
What you’ll do
- Own Your Domain: Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle for a core area of the rental experience. Define the product strategy and roadmap, set priorities, and drive execution from concept to launch and iteration.
- Lead Cross-functionally: Act as the product leader for a dedicated team composed of engineers, a designer, and a data analyst, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
- Master the User: Go deep on user needs through interviews, data analysis, and market research. Translate those insights into clear product requirements, user stories, and feature specifications.
- Execute with Excellence: Manage the product backlog, run sprint planning, and partner closely with engineering to ensure we are shipping high-quality products at a rapid pace.
- Obsess over Impact: Define and analyze key metrics to measure the success of your products, and focus on consistently and quickly finding ways to move the needle. Use A/B testing and data to continuously iterate and improve the user experience.
- Communicate & Collaborate: Clearly articulate your roadmap, priorities, and results to your team, stakeholders, and leadership.
Key qualifications
- An Experienced PM: You have 5+ years of product management experience in fintech, with a strong portfolio of shipped products.
- Consumer-Focused: You have significant experience building and scaling products for consumer-facing mobile or web applications. You live and breathe user experience.
- Scrappy: You move fast and come with solutions, not problems. You do not accept “no” for an answer and find ways around, over, or through obstacles that come in the way of your goals.
- Cross-Functional Leader: You have a proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. Engineers, designers, and marketers want to work with you.
- Data-Driven: You are adept at using analytics tools and running experiments to make data-informed decisions.
- Detail-Oriented: You have a knack for the details and a high bar for quality, from writing crystal-clear specs to ensuring a pixel-perfect UI.
- An Excellent Problem Solver: You are skilled at breaking down complex problems into small, manageable steps and delivering iterative value to users.
The compensation range for this role will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and Flex's internal leveling guidelines and benchmarks.
For working locations in NY/NJ/CA, the base salary pay range will be $239,000 - $262,000
