Senior Sales Engineer
Job Overview:
We are seeking a **Senior Sales Engineer** with a strong technical background and proven sales acumen to lead and optimize our sales engineering function. This role is critical in **engineering the sales process**, **defining and improving sales metrics**, and **driving strategic growth**. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, collaborates effectively across departments, and knows how to turn technical insights into sales wins.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and optimize the end-to-end sales engineering process, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
* Define, monitor, and continuously refine sales metrics and KPIs** such as lead-to-opportunity conversion, proposal win rate, deal cycle time, and customer acquisition cost.
* Act as a strategic advisor and technical expert during the pre-sales and post-sales phases.
* Collaborate closely with the Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
* Develop scalable tools, templates, and playbooks to enhance sales performance and consistency.
* Analyze historical data to identify sales trends and areas for improvement.
* Mentor and support junior sales engineers and sales associates.
* Deliver compelling product demonstrations and technical presentations tailored to client needs.
* Gather market feedback and relay it to the product and engineering teams to inform future development.
* Contribute to strategic planning, including territory development, market expansion, and competitive positioning.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA or technical master’s preferred).
* **5+ years of experience in a sales engineering, technical sales, or solutions engineering role**, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
* Strong understanding of B2B sales processes and technical solution selling.
* Proven experience in **defining and improving performance metrics and sales processes**.
* Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
* Experience with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and data analytics platforms.
* Comfortable working across functions and influencing without authority.
*Preferred Skills:*
* Background in SaaS, PropTech, or compliance-focused solutions.
* Strong business acumen with the ability to link technical features to business value.
* Experience scaling a sales engineering function in a high-growth environment.
