Senior Backend Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design scalable control planes and data primitives for Verkada products.
• Build distributed systems capable of handling high traffic from hundreds of thousands of devices worldwide.
• Create new services within a microservices architecture.
• Scale Auth, Users, Roles, and Audit capabilities for core products.

Requirements

• Bachelor-level degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• 4+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience building and scaling access systems for millions of users worldwide.
• Mastery of at least one of Python or Go.
• Experience with relational databases including Postgres and MySQL.
• Experience with key-value storage and caching systems including Redis and Memcached.
• Experience with distributed queueing using Kafka.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with React, gRPC, and API specifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to work onsite five days per week.
