Aven is already the most efficient bank in the world (generating over $3MM in

revenue per employee) - and we are rapidly making progress on building the

world’s first Machine Bank. We are starting with reinventing the $1T credit card market. We massively reduce the cost of capital by using technology to easily tap into people's assets. Our first product is the world's lowest APR credit card - backed by home equity. Using many patented technologies, we sped up a process that usually takes 4-6 weeks and thousands of dollars down to as fast as 15 minutes and $0 to get. Who are we?

We are a well-capitalized (over $250MM in equity funding) team of technology

(Square, Microsoft, Facebook) and finance (Discover, CapitalOne, and

Goldman) executives with top-tier investors -- Founders Fund, Khosla Ventures,

Max Levchin, NYCA, Sequoia, SciFi VC, Caffeinated Capital, etc. In the next

decade, we believe we will reduce the cost of consumer credit in the world by

half.

Our team includes people who have built:

• Financial products (Square/CashApp, the earliest CapitalOne

• credit cards)

• Consumer products (Facebook, Xbox)

• Technology infrastructure (C++/C#, Visual Studio, Windows &

• Azure)

products that become an infrastructure for society. We believe that using

technology to lower the cost of capital for consumers is one of these problems -

and if we can do it, it could have an infinite impact on people's lives.

Who are you?

We are looking for an experienced engineer who can dig deep into all aspects

of a system. You will be digging into performance issues of a web application,

debugging race conditions across client/server boundaries, and controlling

robots across the continental United States (yes, really).

You will also be responsible for the architecture of the system, design reviews

and code reviews. This role will evolve into having tech leadership

responsibilities.

You can expect to work on:

Anything and everything. At this early stage, you will find yourself:

• Building a best in class credit card, mortgage, and other financial products

• Building it using the advanced technology available from machine learning / AI to high precision sentinel systems - and bringing it to bear on one of the oldest & most important problems in human society.

• Building a best in class audio/video notarization solution

• Helping us execute world-class growth & engagement tactics

• Architecting product & infrastructure across a wide surface area of products & services

• Weighing in on strategy. Every voice is important to help inform our decisions

• Defining our culture. As a large % of the team, who you are shapes who we become.

You should join us if:

• You have led large technically complex projects with a lot of moving parts

• You have experience with a lot of disparate systems design problems

• You have worked on production-grade deep technology - compilers, operating systems, large distributed systems, and production grade machine learning infrastructure

• You can jump into a new environment and hit the ground running without much hand-holding

• You're fine with us not having answers yet. You want to be part of figuring out the answers

• You enjoy diving into the deep end and feel like that's where the greatest personal growth happens

• You thrive in highly collaborative environments and are down to riff with us on anything from company mission to software architecture to user research
