Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a fleet of construction equipment and dump trucks used in grading and public works projects.
This is a hands-on role requiring strong mechanical skills, problem-solving ability, and the ability to work independently.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, including:
- Excavators, loaders, graders, compactors
- Dump trucks and trailers
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, filters, hydraulics, etc.)
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
- Maintain service records and logs for all equipment
- Coordinate with operations team to prioritize repairs
- Ensure all equipment is operating safely and efficiently
- Perform field service repairs when needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 3–5 years experience as a heavy equipment mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Experience working on construction equipment and dump trucks
- Ability to diagnose issues quickly and accurately
- Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus)
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
