PEDIATRIC GASTROENTEROLOGIST
Location: Oakland, California
We are currently seeking a 7th BC / BE Pediatric Gastroenterologist to join our growing pediatric specialty group in Oakland, California. In this full-time position, you will be responsible for consultations in inpatient and outpatient settings, performing flexible endoscopies, and diagnosing and caring for children with various GI, liver, pancreatic, and motility disorders. The ideal candidate should have completed fellowship in Pediatric Gastroenterology at an RRC-approved program, and be BE / BC in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Excellent communication and teaching skills are essential.
Our established Pediatric Gastroenterology program at Oakland Medical Center includes 6 physicians, case managers, dietitians, social workers, and support staff. We operate with electronic medical records in an innovative, patient-centered environment. We serve approximately 500,000 pediatric patients in the Central Bay Area. Our inpatient facilities include a 24-bed Neonatal ICU, a 35-bed Pediatric ward, and a 12-bed Pediatric ICU staffed by Pediatric Hospitalists and Critical Care specialists. We collaborate closely with Pediatric, Surgical, and Subspecialty colleagues and have an independent Pediatric Residency Program. We also coordinate with Pediatric Gastroenterologists at Kaiser Santa Clara and Roseville/Sacramento Medical Centers.
Requirements:
Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Gastroenterology, with the ability to obtain an active medical license in California. Candidates should be comfortable providing inpatient and outpatient care and performing procedures. A willingness to teach medical students and residents is required, along with the ability to work collaboratively and collegially.
