At Roblox, the Foundation team defines and builds our design language and system that powers every product experience across our platform. The Visual Systems team defines the design language that shapes every experience on our platform, from color, typography, iconography, motion, grid, and shape. We transform these elements into scalable assets, reusable patterns, and clear guidance that elevate quality, performance, and consistency across products.

As a Product Designer on Visual Systems , you will shape and evolve key parts of this visual language, partnering closely with product designers and engineers to capture needs, audit current experiences, and integrate visual systems into features from exploration through launch. Your work will ensure that every detail, from the smallest icon to the most complex interaction,reflects Roblox’s unique identity with craft, accessibility, and performance in mind.

You have a passion for visual craft, a systematic approach to design, and a strong foundation in tools like Figma. You will report to the Head of Brand & Visual Design Systems.

You Will

• Evolve visual primitives and patterns (color, typography, iconography, motion, grid, shape, etc) and translate them into usable assets and specs.
• Provide clear, actionable visual guidance and examples through foundation.roblox.com, enabling teams to adopt and apply the system with consistency and quality.
• Partner with product designers and engineers to integrate the visual system into features from exploration through launch, ensuring quality and consistency in the final experience.
• Lead visual QA for the areas you own, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and performance across platforms.
• Identify opportunities to raise craft quality through better assets, patterns, and implementation details.
• Collaborate closely with Brand Design and Foundation UI & Interactivity partners to keep product expression aligned and coherent.

You Have

• 5+ years in visual or product design with portfolio examples of systemized visual work at product scale.
• Strong craft in grid, typography, color, iconography, and motion (with the ability to systematize each).
• Proficiency in Figma and relevant visual tools, plus experience partnering through implementation.
• Clear communication, documentation habits, and a collaborative approach with cross-functional teams.

• Systematic in your approach to design, with a strong eye for detail, consistency, and scalability.
• Deeply attuned to visual design craft, ensuring that every element meets a high-quality bar across color, typography, iconography, motion, and more.
• Comfortable owning significant areas of the visual system while collaborating with others on broader initiatives.
• Skilled at partnering with product designers and engineers to bring visual decisions into product with fidelity and performance in mind.
• Open to feedback and committed to cross-functional collaboration.
• Energized by shaping a visual language that defines the experience of millions of Roblox users.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page .

Annual Salary Range

$176,070—$213,660 USD

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
