Job Description and Duties

The Staff Services Manager (SSM) I (Supervisor) serves as the California Military Department (CMD) Asset Manager / State Property Book Manager (PBM). Under the direction of the Director, J4, The SSM I (Supervisor) is responsible for the oversight and management of the CMD’s State Property Book (state assets) that consists of over $65 million dollars of equipment statewide; serves as the Department’s Fleet Manager and the Manager of Warehouse Operations for the CMD Headquarters. This position coordinates, develops, and recommends procedural and operational CMD policies related to State Property and ensures these policies and procedures meet California State regulations and the State Administrative Manual (SAM). The SSM I (Supervisor) will directly supervise two staff members and coordinate activities with other J4 staff members as well as CMD locations throughout the State.

How has your work experience prepared you for this position?

Describe the asset management program that you are responsible for. Are you responsible for portions of the program or do you have fully life cycle experience from procurement, utilization, and through disposal.

Describe your experience with various software systems, specifically discuss if you have experience with asset management; GEOTAB’s or fleet management; Fi$Cal; or any other software systems you utilize in your duties.

Describe your experience with fleet management, specifically discuss if you have experience with Department of General Services (DGS) Fleet Acquisition Program (FAP). Include your experience with conducting fleet management duties such as title, registration, and vehicle disposition.
