Nursing care is delivered using standards of care by following approved policies and procedures. Applying appropriate decision-making skills, exhibits competence in the technical, interpersonal and cognitive skills required to independently and safely manage routine patient assignment. The Clinical Nurse II, Oncology establishes a plan of care, sets goals, determines priorities, and provides care within established standards of practice. **Duties and Responsibilities:** + Assesses appropriately patient care needs and learning needs in routine oncology patient populations. + Reviews lab diagnostic data and incorporates in assessment. + Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) monitoring to maintain or improve care of Oncology patient population. + Plans patient care and education based on disease process, anticipated patient outcomes, complications of treatment, and psycho-social needs in collaboration with other healthcare team members. + Initiates and follows through with appropriate referrals to other interdisciplinary healthcare team members. + Demonstrates proficiency in use of technical skills as needed (i.e., IV therapy equipment utilization, universal precautions, body mechanics). + Establish IV access using peripheral or central catheters per protocol. See our website for details:** **Qualifications** **Education:** + Associate's Degree/College diploma in Nursing required.
