Dealer Support Analyst
Job Description and Duties
Under direction of the Supervisor I in the Dealer Support Unit 1 (DSU), the Analyst II (Analyst) is responsible for the staff functions associated with beverage retailers (dealers) in the Beverage Container Recycling Program (Program). The Analyst will offer technical assistance to dealers by providing outreach and guidance to increase retailer compliance in unserved areas, including reviewing and processing dealer complaints by consumers. In addition, the Analyst will perform a variety of data management functions using Geographic Information System (GIS) and the Division of Recycling Integrated Information System (DORIIS), including analyzing and evaluating data, reaching sound conclusions, taking appropriate actions, establishing and maintaining cooperative relationships and preparing clear, complete and technically accurate reports for DSU.
The DSU is responsible for maintaining dealer data, tracking unserved dealer compliance, processing consumer complaints and providing customer service to dealers.
Limited-Term position up to 24 months, may become permanent. This position may be eligible for hybrid telework under Government Code 14200 for eligible applicants residing in California, subject to the candidate meeting telework eligibility criteria set forth in the CalEPA telework policy and/or future program need. Employees not residing in California are not eligible for telework. Regardless of telework eligibility, all employees may be required to report to the position’s designated headquarters location, as indicated on their duty statement, at their own expense. Beginning July 1st, 2026, it is anticipated the position will be office-centered and employees will be expected to report to the office at least four days per week.You will find additional information about the job in the .

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:
- Demonstrated knowledge of California's Beverage Container Recycling Program.
- Demonstrated attention to detail (reviewing forms, budget/leg review, presentations, etc).
- Customer service experience with both internal and external customers.
- Experience with training others on new processes, regulation implementation, change management, etc.
- Strong written communication/Successful team collaboration.
- Proficient with Oracle or other database systems.
